Bombe, a natural coffee from Sidama
Bombe is a coffee from Ethiopia, produced in the Sidama region in the south of the country. It comes from the village of Bombe, where DWD collects and prepares coffees grown at high altitude, in an environment particularly well suited to arabica.
This natural lot offers a sweet and fruit-forward profile, true to what we enjoy in Sidama coffees: an aromatic cup, with a clear sense of sweetness and a lively but well-integrated acidity.
A bright, sweet and fruity profile
In the cup, Bombe develops notes of honey, grape, stone fruit and lime. It also keeps a slightly milky texture, bringing roundness and balance to its fruity character.
Roast profile and brewing
We roast it light to medium-light, to preserve its aromatic clarity while keeping the cup approachable. It will be particularly expressive as a filter coffee, where its freshness, sweetness and fruity complexity come through clearly.
It can also be brewed as espresso, for a brighter and fruitier cup. As often with natural Ethiopian coffees, extraction requires a little more attention, but Bombe remains fairly approachable within this style.
DWD, a family story in Sidama
DWD, short for Dukale Wakayo Dakola, is closely linked to the story of Ato Dukale, who was born in the Bensa area of Sidama. Coming from a family already involved in coffee farming, he gradually developed his coffee collection activity before building his first washing station in the late 1980s.
Today, the family business operates several collection centers in Sidama and Yirgacheffe, with a strong focus on quality lots.
A seasonal coffee
Bombe is a seasonal coffee, bright and fruit-forward, made for those who enjoy aromatic Ethiopian coffees with sweetness, freshness and a clear sense of origin.
