What makes this coffee special
Water decaffeination
This coffee is decaffeinated in Canada by Swiss Water. The process uses water to remove caffeine, without relying on the synthetic solvents used by some conventional methods.
It is one of the methods we favour to preserve the coffee’s aromatic profile and produce a rich decaf without a muted cup.
An organic coffee from northern Peru
Jumarp is produced in the Jaén region, mainly around Jaén and San Ignacio. The coffee trees are shade-grown between 1,200 and 1,800 metres above sea level.
The coffee is certified organic.
Origin and producers
Jaén · Cajamarca · Peru
This coffee comes from the Jumarp cooperative in northern Peru. The mountainous Jaén region has mild, sunny days and cooler nights.
The plots are mainly located around Jaén and San Ignacio. The altitude and shade-grown cultivation allow the cherries to ripen gradually.
From fruit to coffee
Red Caturra, Red Bourbon and Typica · Washed · Hand-picked · Patio dried
The cherries are hand-picked from March to September. After the washed process, the coffee is dried on patios before being sent to Canada for water decaffeination by Swiss Water.
Brewing
Primarily suited to espresso and automatic machines, but also suitable for filter. A rich cup built around brown sugar, almond, bread and spices.
