Namisuni (Uganda, Mount Elgon)
Namisuni is a Ugandan specialty coffee grown on the volcanic slopes of Mount Elgon. Harvested between 1,800 and 2,100 meters, this high-altitude lot delivers a structured, expressive and comforting cup.
Processed using the natural method, it shows a clearly present fermentation that adds depth and intensity while keeping the cup balanced. Expect notes of caramel and milk chocolate, supported by almond and a brighter, fruity touch reminiscent of red currant.
The medium-light roast was designed for versatility. As a filter coffee, it is juicy, vibrant and clean. As an espresso, it stays lively and slightly acidic, with natural sweetness and a clear structure.
This lot is sourced through Bariguna Coffee Ltd, an independent exporter working closely with smallholder farmers in the Mount Elgon region to improve harvesting and post-harvest practices. Namisuni is rare: only 34 bags were available for this harvest.
