Shantawene (Sidama, Ethiopia)
A refined and luminous coffee, full of delicacy. Grown in the highlands of Shantawene, in the district of Bensa, this lot perfectly reflects the finesse of Ethiopian coffees. Lightly roasted, it shines in filter brewing but also offers a smooth and fruity espresso.
A high-altitude terroir in the heart of Sidama
Cultivated at around 2000 meters above sea level, this coffee comes from the Daye Bensa farm, nestled within an endemic forest where coffee trees grow under natural shade. This region, known as Sidama A, is famous for its sweetness and yellow fruit notes. The temperate climate, rich volcanic soils, and dense biodiversity give this coffee remarkable complexity and clarity.
Sustainability and commitment
True to its philosophy, Daye Bensa is deeply involved in sustainable agriculture and environmental preservation. The farm leads a reforestation program supported by the Ethiopian Ministry of Agriculture, promoting biodiversity and soil health. Each harvest reflects a deep respect for both the land and the local farming communities.
