Shantawene (Sidama, Ethiopia)

A bright and refined coffee, grown in the heart of Sidama, in the Bensa district. With its clear roast, it is ideal for filter methods, but also shines with elegance in espresso.

A unique terroir

The Shantawene farm, managed by Daye Bensa, sits at an altitude of around 2,000 meters, surrounded by endemic forest that provides shade and fertile soils. This natural environment allows for a slow maturation of the cherries and remarkable aromatic complexity. Daye Bensa also coordinates a reforestation program, following the guidelines of the Ministry of Agriculture, to preserve and enrich the local biodiversity.

Sidama, a legendary appellation

The Sidama appellation is divided into four geographical areas (A, B, C, D), each with its own cup profile. Shantawene belongs to Sidama A, known for its sweetness and notes of yellow fruits. The Sidama name also represents the heritage of the Sidama people from southern Ethiopia, renowned for their long-standing coffee traditions.
